　　and之后的一句話：perhaps never before has it served so much to connect different peoples and nations as in the recent events in Europe. 這句話由于否定副詞never before置于句首引起部分倒裝，所以應(yīng)該首先將其還原為正常語序：It perhaps has never served so much... to connect different peoples and nations是不定式結(jié)構(gòu)做目的狀語。as in the recent events in Europe是as引導(dǎo)的比較狀語從句，這里也省略了主句提到的內(nèi)容，補(bǔ)充完整是as it has served to connect different peoples and nations in the recent events in Europe.這句話的結(jié)構(gòu)較前一句話相對復(fù)雜。
